About this role
Lead quality assurance for Westinghouse's critical welding work on the ITER Vacuum Vessel in Southern France. Oversee compliance, manage quality teams, investigate incidents, and ensure adherence to rigorous nuclear fusion standards across a multi-year international project.
Responsibilities
Monitor quality aspects of site activities including maintenance, inspection, and construction. Coordinate quality personnel, define objectives, and ensure performance meets site requirements. Investigate incidents with stakeholders to determine root causes and prevent recurrence. Implement corrective and improvement actions in the quality domain. Provide training and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with Westinghouse, client, and regulatory requirements. Maintain relationships with external stakeholders affected by quality performance. Ensure compliance with all quality aspects of services delivered within the ITER project. Work closely with the project manager to prevent and analyze incidents. Operate autonomously with authority to stop activities in case of risk or non-compliance. Lead quality teams and coordinate with project team, client representatives, authorities, and subcontractors. Participate in project meetings and communicate quality domain reporting with partners. Prepare site activities in advance and finalize end-of-project documentation. Manage team schedules and resolve conflicts due to overlapping projects or absences. Coach team members and report observations to relevant managers. Synthesize information and coordinate quality actions contributing to performance improvement.
Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent in Quality Engineering. Excellent command of English (spoken and written). Fluent in French with excellent writing and communication skills. Certifications and authorizations relevant to welding and nuclear quality activities. Excellent knowledge of quality standards and laws, especially French INB Order of 7 February 2012. Experience in cause analysis and corrective action management. Ability to manage pressure and communicate effectively with external stakeholders. Knowledge of services and techniques relevant to welding, TIG operations, and non-destructive testing.

Experience working in international project environments. Capacity to adapt communication styles across cultural and organizational contexts.
