Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Knowledge of national consensus standards including ISO, ASME NQA-1, IEEE Standards, and NRC Regulatory Guide series. Working knowledge of data collection and analysis tools such as Minitab, R, or Python. General knowledge of major non-destructive testing (NDT) disciplines and their relationship to materials and structures.
About this role
Westinghouse Quality Engineer role focused on nuclear power plant projects. Ensure compliance with NRC regulations, customer requirements, and applicable standards (ISO, ASME NQA-1, IEEE) across design, manufacturing, construction, and installation of reactor primary/secondary loop systems. Manage supplier quality, conduct audits, and coordinate with NRC, ASME, and ISO.
Responsibilities
- Develop and recommend technical solutions for inspection and compliance following customer requirements, applicable standards, and NRC regulations
- Review design engineering documentation to verify compliance with technical QA requirements for design, manufacture, construction, and installation of nuclear power plant primary and secondary loop structures, systems, and components
- Recommend corrective actions to operations, resolve quality issues, and implement performance improvements
- Assess supplier performance through audits, surveillances, commercial grade surveys, and supplier partnerships to assure cost/value for procured products and services
- Serve as quality liaison/coordinator for third-party inquiries including NRC, customers, licensees, ASME, and ISO
- Develop automated systems to refine processes, improve productivity, and ensure customer satisfaction
