Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- At least 6 years of Quality Assurance experience in the nuclear industry
- Knowledge of multiple ISO standards, ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and other nuclear industry quality standards
- Ability to make decisions and accomplish multiple tasks as assigned from supervisory project managers
About this role
Lead a team of QA engineers in nuclear equipment qualification and quality assurance oversight at Westinghouse. This supervisory role requires mentoring, technical training development, and ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards (NRC, DOE, ASME) and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers in executing complex equipment qualification tasks
- Provide oversight, delegate work, and develop team members through TLDP progression reviews and onboarding
- Develop technical training in critical product areas
- Provide support and manager input to PFP reviews
- Ensure contractual and Westinghouse quality program requirements are incorporated into project planning documents
- Perform in-process software audits and coordinate preparation for and support conduct of customer audits
- Identify and define technical challenges and direct efforts to resolution
- Participate on and lead internal audit teams; comment on proposed Level 2 procedure revisions
- Provide inputs to IPC budget for Quality items
- Promote a Safety Conscious Work Environment and Westinghouse's Nuclear Safety Culture
