Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, quality assurance, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of commercial nuclear power plant QA experience
- 2+ years of supervisory or mentoring experience (or equivalent people leadership experience)
- Demonstrated competency managing personnel
- High-level knowledge of nuclear power plant systems and terminology
- Experience interpreting relevant nuclear information and standards in strict procedural and regulatory compliance
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to NQA excellence
- High degree of trust and integrity with ability to communicate openly and foster teamwork
- Ability to adapt to emergent changes due to plant design, procedures, schedules, or other challenges
About this role
Quality Assurance Manager for TerraPower's Kemmerer Power Station. You'll implement and oversee the QA program ensuring compliance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, NQA-1 standards, and NRC regulations for nuclear power plant construction and operation. Report to the Director of Nuclear Oversight.
Responsibilities
- Manage QA department personnel, ensuring training, qualification, and certification requirements are met; provide direction on work assignments
- Provide managerial oversight of work product from department personnel, ensuring all quality-related activities and records satisfy program and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain high-quality procedures using industry best practices to minimize NQA events
- Coordinate with other departments for cross-discipline procedure reviews and database implementation
- Ensure USO quality procedures comply with program standards, NRC regulations, INPO accreditation criteria, and applicable codes and standards
- Provide regular training and mentoring to company personnel on NQA processes and procedures
- Incorporate information from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, Information Notices, plant design changes, and new regulations into NQA procedures
- Ensure collection and maintenance of auditable quality documents and records
- Schedule and oversee internal and supplier audits to support the QA program
- Evaluate and improve the QA program and QA activities in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance
- Engage with industry peers, third-party vendors, NEI, and other organizations to identify innovative methods and technologies for implementing the Quality Assurance Program

- Experience with smart procedures or other software-based procedure tools
- Self-starter who can develop innovative solutions with minimal supervision
