Director of Maintenance and Work Control
About this role
Senior site leadership position at TerraPower's Kemmerer Power Station responsible for unified ownership, governance, and performance of all maintenance and work control programs. Reports to the Plant General Manager as the single-point accountable owner for maintenance standards, policies, regulatory compliance, and long-term strategic capability.
Responsibilities
- —Own and govern the station's Maintenance and Work Control programs, including standards, policies, procedures, resource allocation, staffing models, work execution, and regulatory compliance
- —Ensure work planning, scheduling, and execution comply with regulatory requirements, quality assurance program requirements, and applicable procedures
- —Provide final approval authority for program standards, major policies, and procedures related to Maintenance and Work Control
- —Govern staffing models, qualification requirements, and training standards for the maintenance organization
- —Ensure full integration of maintenance requirements into operations, engineering, work planning, and construction/startup activities
- —Provide executive-level technical and programmatic input to site leadership on plant risk, plant conditions, and operational decisions
- —Lead maintenance department responses for plant events with emergency preparedness and site response organizations
- —Develop and manage budgets and long-range resource plans for maintenance and work control programs
- —Own performance monitoring, self-assessment, and corrective action programs for maintenance and work control functions
- —Serve as primary site interface with regulatory agencies and oversight organizations on Maintenance and Work Control matters
- —Lead audits, inspections, readiness reviews, and management assessments affecting Maintenance and Work Control programs
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in a technical or science-related field
- —Minimum 10 years of experience at a nuclear power plant
- —Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role
- —Familiarity with standard maintenance testing practices and codes for nuclear I&C, electrical, and mechanical systems
- —Demonstrated supervisory or management activities at a nuclear power plant during both outage and at-power operations
Desired
- —Previously held or currently holds a SRO License or SRO Certification
- —Experience governing maintenance and work control programs in nuclear operations
- —Demonstrated track record of programmatic performance improvement and corrective action leadership
