Required qualifications

- Experience supervising quality personnel and leading quality assurance programs on complex projects
- Strong technical knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes across engineering, procurement, construction, and testing phases
- Experience with special processes including welding, nondestructive examination, and material traceability
- Ability to plan work, review technical deliverables, resolve complex quality issues, and mentor personnel
About this role
Lead project quality assurance and quality control for Oklo's advanced nuclear reactor projects. Supervise quality personnel, implement ASME NQA-1 compliance, and ensure engineering, procurement, construction, and testing meet NRC regulations and rigorous safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the project Quality Assurance Program per ASME NQA-1, ANSI/ANS-15.8, and applicable NRC regulations
- Provide day-to-day supervision, technical direction, work planning, and mentoring for Project Quality Specialists, inspectors, and assigned quality personnel
- Interpret quality, contractual, technical, regulatory, and code requirements and translate them into practical project controls, procedures, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria
- Develop and maintain project quality plans, inspection and test plans, surveillance plans, audit schedules, and risk-based oversight strategies
- Lead design, constructability, and readiness reviews to verify quality requirements, design inputs, field changes, and inspection needs are adequately addressed
- Oversee quality reviews of procurement specifications, purchase orders, and subcontracts to ensure appropriate quality clauses and technical requirements are included
- Coordinate supplier and subcontractor quality activities including qualification, audits, performance monitoring, and issue resolution
- Review and approve quality evaluations of supplier submittals, quality plans, inspection records, material certifications, and test reports
- Direct field quality oversight of EPC contractors performing civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work
- Plan and oversee source, receiving, in-process, construction, and final inspections; witness tests and verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications
- Establish controls for special processes including welding, nondestructive examination, heat treatment, and concrete placement
- Manage construction work package priorities, field activities, design changes, and quality control documentation with prompt escalation of conditions adverse to quality
- Review and approve nonconformance reports, deviations, and corrective actions; coordinate root cause evaluations and effectiveness verifications
- Serve as Lead Auditor for project audits of internal organizations, EPC contractors, and suppliers; develop audit plans and ensure timely closure of findings
- Lead project surveillances and assessments; identify adverse trends and communicate quality risks and resource needs to project leadership
- Ensure quality assurance and construction completion documentation are complete, accurate, traceable, and retrievable
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in nuclear or power generation project quality assurance
- Background working with EPC contractors and supplier quality management
- Experience in both office and field quality oversight environments
