About this role

Senior project manager role overseeing nuclear projects exceeding $10M in cost at Columbia Generating Station, including refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work. Leads multidisciplinary teams of 10+ people managing complex initiatives involving high risk, high financial investment, and strong nuclear industry leadership requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work with oversight of planning, controlling, and monitoring to ensure safe, quality implementation on schedule and within budget
  • Develop budgets and track cost versus budget for assigned projects
  • Prepare work packages, coordinate parts procurement, plan ALARA compliance, manage industrial and nuclear safety, and prepare clearance orders
  • Prioritize work, allocate resources, manage risk, and resolve schedule delays and conflicts
  • Develop project schedules with focus on risk management, progress tracking, accountability, and critical path management
  • Interface with clients, engineers, related parties, and management to ensure proper progress
  • Develop and manage contracts and vendor relationships
  • Mentor less experienced project managers and provide emergency response organization (ERO) and outage support
  • Support implementation of Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field AND 12+ years' experience in a technical field (OR Associate's degree AND 14+ years' experience, OR High School Diploma/GED AND 16+ years' experience). For Senior level: Bachelor's degree AND 16+ years' experience (OR Associate's degree AND 20+ years' experience, OR High School Diploma/GED AND 22+ years' experience), or Advanced degree in related field.

Advanced degree in related field or business; RO/SRO License or CGS Management Certification; Project Management Certification; Construction Management Certification; Extensive work experience as direct supervisor or project manager in commercial nuclear industry focused on maintenance, operations, engineering, or construction; Nuclear plant operator production coordination experience; Work management experience conducting and coordinating plant production work.
