Project Estimator-Nuclear Project Controls
About this role
Project Estimator supporting Westinghouse's nuclear projects in Minneapolis, MN. Translate early-stage nuclear project concepts into defensible cost estimates for long-range planning, governance approval, and budget authorization within utility environments. Develop preliminary and refined estimates using historical project data, cost models, and project management tools.
Responsibilities
- —Review project backlogs in Oracle Unifier, spreadsheets, and planning tools to identify estimation needs
- —Collaborate with project initiators, asset owners, and team members to define and refine project scope
- —Reference historical project data and cost models to develop preliminary and refined cost estimates
- —Support long-range planning by building estimates used for capital budgeting and funding authorization
- —Translate loosely defined project concepts into structured estimates for governance and executive review
- —Maintain accurate estimate documentation and support standardization practices across the estimating function
- —Contribute to process improvements and change-management initiatives within project controls
Qualifications
- —8–10 years of experience in project estimating, project controls, construction estimating, or related fields, preferably in nuclear or utility environments
- —Experience in project finance, operations, and work order planning
- —Proficiency in Oracle Unifier or similar project management/estimating platforms
- —Ability to interpret technical information, clarify ambiguous project concepts, and build accurate cost estimates
Desired
- —PMP or nuclear-specific project management certifications
- —1+ years of hands-on experience with PowerApps, Power Automate, or Power BI
