Programme Manager
About this role
Programme Manager at Westinghouse Electric Company overseeing delivery and project management of a programme or portfolio of projects in the nuclear sector. You'll report to the Head of Projects, managing multiple interrelated projects from initiation through closure at the Westlakes facility, with responsibility for budgets, resources, risk, and stakeholder relationships across client, partner, and supply chain organizations.
Responsibilities
- —Plan, direct and coordinate team activities to manage and implement projects and interrelated projects from initiation to final closure
- —Determine, monitor and review all project economics including costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risk
- —Identify and assemble appropriate resources to meet the Programme or Portfolio's needs and requirements
- —Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the Programme/Portfolio
- —Adhere to established Project Management processes and governance arrangements, cascading these throughout constituent projects
- —Ensure QA arrangements are in place to provide assurance that reporting and adherence to Management Systems is robust
- —Undertake status review meetings among project teams within the Programme/Portfolio
- —Advise the Head of Projects on escalations, major concerns, risks, and opportunities
- —Control project requirements, scope and change management issues including approval of contract variations
- —Promote learning from experience and continuous improvement within the Programme/Portfolio
- —Work with the Programme/Portfolio's Customer Account Manager to identify, develop and maintain a pipeline of work
- —Maintain relationships with client, partner, and supply chain organisations and set delivery/execution strategies for new opportunities
Qualifications
- —Minimum 10 years of applicable project management experience
- —Leadership ability with experience directing complex team structures
- —Advanced interpersonal skills including effective verbal and written communications
- —Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders in upper management positions and client organisations
- —Ability to analyse problems, establish facts and make complex decisions with little to no supervision
- —Ability to drive change in working practices
- —Knowledge and experience of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
