Procurement Specialist Technical
About this role
Constellation, the nation's largest clean energy producer operating nuclear, renewable, and fossil generation, seeks a Procurement Specialist Technical to manage supply chain operations for nuclear and energy facilities. This role combines procurement expertise with technical knowledge to ensure regulatory compliance, optimize supplier performance, and support nuclear operations through contract management and sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities
- —Support nuclear facility and supplier needs through engineered specifications, terms and conditions enforcement, and sourcing strategies aligned with nuclear quality standards
- —Manage supplier relationships and develop performance metrics using monitoring systems; conduct supplier visits and participate in long-range alliance meetings
- —Complete technical evaluations including material classification, alternate replacement evaluation, reverse engineering, and commercial grade dedication analysis for nuclear components
- —Resolve procurement process issues including invoice discrepancies, supplier changes, unit of measure updates, and cost optimization
- —Investigate and correct issues related to invoices, contracts, purchase orders, deliveries, shipping, expediting, quality, and receiving
- —Support business unit emergency response and nuclear operational continuity activities as assigned
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's Degree in Business or Technical Program with 2 years of procurement experience, or 6 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- —Effective analytical skills combined with strong written and verbal communication
- —Proficient with PC and computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Passport, Hyperion)
- —Working knowledge of purchasing functions, procurement technologies, and sourcing tools
- —Experience with inventory management software systems such as Passport, Asset Suite 9, Coupa, or similar platforms
Desired
- —Electrical and instrumental controls knowledge
- —Experience with nuclear-qualified supplier management or 10 CFR Part 21 compliance
- —Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements
