Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in tooling design and development
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD for design, drafting, and simulation
- Hands-on experience working with shop floor fabrication, machinists, or tool makers
- Strong knowledge of tolerance stack-ups, DFM/DFA, GD&T principles, and manufacturing processes

Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced tooling, fixtures, dies, and jigs for nuclear component fabrication
- Establish tooling standards, best practices, and engineering methodologies; review and approve complex tooling designs and engineering changes
- Develop tooling concepts to support new product introduction and optimize for manufacturability, durability, and cost efficiency
- Perform CAD modeling, simulation, and technical drafting using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Lead cross-functional tooling projects from concept to production launch; collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, production efficiency, quality, and throughput; support causal analysis for tooling-related failures
- Participate in prototyping, testing, and qualification of tooling solutions; optimize tool life, maintenance strategies, and cycle times
