Principal, Supplier Quality Specialist
About this role
Lead supplier quality assurance for Westinghouse's nuclear energy business across Ontario locations. Develop and execute supplier oversight programs, mentor QA teams, and ensure procured products and services meet Westinghouse's stringent quality standards and NRC regulatory requirements for nuclear applications.
Responsibilities
- —Mentor junior oversight personnel in verification activities, supplier oversight, and resolution of supplier quality issues
- —Manage multiple teams executing supplier oversight activities to verify Quality Assurance Program implementation
- —Develop and implement supplier surveillance and oversight plans for complex and first-of-a-kind nuclear procurements
- —Perform verification and acceptance activities to confirm items and services conform to purchase order requirements
- —Produce certification documents identifying procurement requirements met by purchased materials and equipment
- —Lead assessments of the global supply base for compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and standards
- —Evaluate supplier quality plans and procedures for compliance with technical requirements
- —Review procurement documents to verify technical and quality requirements are correctly translated from design documents and customer contracts
- —Lead supplier corrective actions, evaluate responses, and ensure objective evidence substantiates closure
- —Identify failure causes and trends, rate supplier performance, and measure effectiveness of QA programs
- —Write segments of QA plans, programs, and policies according to NRC, Westinghouse, and customer standards
- —Serve as primary Supplier Quality interface for reviewing bid specifications, proposals, purchase orders, and supplier submittals
- —Investigate and report on compliance with technical specifications and verify accuracy of procedures, tests, and records
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline or technical area
- —5+ years of supplier oversight experience
- —Lead auditor qualifications (ANSI 45.2.23/NQA-1) and inspector qualification (ANSI N45.2.9/NQA-1)
- —Working knowledge of US NRC Regulations including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and 10 CFR 21
- —Knowledge of national consensus standards: ASME B&PV Code, ISO, ANSI ASME NQA-1, RCC-M, RCC-E, ISO 9001, ISO 9712, ANSI N45.2, IEEE Standards
Desired
- —Current lead auditor and inspector qualifications
- —Familiarity with European Standards
- —Knowledge of NDE techniques and practices such as SNT-TC-1A, ESPN/RCC
Location
Hybrid role based in Ontario, Canada (Peterborough, Burlington, or Kitchener); 2 days per week onsite required.
