Principal Quality Specialist
About this role
Principal Quality Specialist at Westinghouse responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System for AP300 & AP1000 reactor projects. Reports to Manager of AP300 & AP1000 Quality Assurance; hybrid role based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania with ~10% travel (domestic and international).
Responsibilities
- —Support Quality Manager activities including schedule maintenance, tracking customer deliverables, and monitoring project Quality performance
- —Lead or participate in targeted surveillances, audits, self-assessments, and design reviews
- —Support interfaces with ASME Section III Quality, Supplier Quality, and Corporate Quality organizations
- —Act as quality management system consultant to Engineering, Licensing, and Procurement in developing plans, procedures, and safety analysis reports
- —Implement Westinghouse Quality Management System, project quality plans, and procedures for APX projects
- —Establish and oversee project team training requirements related to project requirements and implementing procedures
- —Promote Nuclear Safety Culture and Safety Conscious Work Environment
- —Promote safe, error-free performance through Human Performance tools and organizational learning
- —Identify and implement quality assurance best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- —Recommend and implement solutions to quality problems through corrective and preventive actions
- —Manage change effectively with clear communication across Quality organizations, leadership, regulatory agencies, customers, and suppliers
- —Support audits, ensure compliance and process consistency with other intercompany Quality organizations
- —Represent APX program in external customer or regulatory audits and inspections
- —Monitor quality metrics, conduct data analysis, and prepare Quality performance reports
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably technical)
- —Minimum 5 years of quality assurance experience
- —Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, and testing work processes
- —Auditing skills
- —Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~10%)
Desired
- —Experience with Nuclear programs such as NQA-1, ASME Section III, or ISO 19443
- —Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance regulations, codes, and standards including ISO 9001 and 19443, 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ASME Section III B&PV Code
Location
Hybrid work arrangement with regular on-site collaboration at Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; ~10% domestic and international travel required
