Principal Project Scheduler
About this role
Lead project schedule and cost management for large, complex nuclear projects within Westinghouse's Engineered Solutions group. Drive cost control, identify value-add opportunities, and manage multiple simultaneous projects while potentially leading small cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- —Initiate and plan schedule/cost control aspects of projects, including baselines and cost projections
- —Apply tools and techniques to reduce inefficiencies and optimize overall project performance
- —Manage all aspects of project controls including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and earned value assessment
- —Process, monitor, and track changes following integrated change control processes
- —Prepare project cost expenditure forecasts, progress evaluations, and estimate at completion updates
- —Coordinate project communications with team, customers, and stakeholders
- —Maintain project databases, systems, and procedures for efficient documentation and correspondence
- —Review portfolio costs and provide reports to project management to ensure cost performance
- —Close projects by archiving work in financial, scheduling, and resource management systems
- —Identify and communicate improvement opportunities, lessons learned, and risk avoidance strategies
- —Lead small diverse discipline teams through project phases
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Accounting, Construction Management, or related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience in project controls working on project cost and scheduling. High-level technical knowledge of nuclear power plants. Familiarity with utility business practices including operations, maintenance, and engineering.
