- Significant experience in technical leadership roles, both as individual contributor and leading technical teams
- Experience resolving complex technical issues through design development
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident
About this role
Lead design and analysis of AP1000 and AP300 advanced nuclear power plants at Westinghouse. Direct technical teams on turbine generator integration, system design, and complex problem resolution while collaborating with component leads, project managers, and regulatory partners including the NRC and DOE.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and analyses of AP1000 and AP300 power plant systems
- Work with component, system, and manufacturing leads on turbine generator integration and subsystem interfaces
- Develop functional and qualification testing plans with the testing organization
- Coordinate with project managers and subsystem/component leads to develop project schedules
- Lead complex technical projects, directing diverse teams to accomplish goals within established schedule and budget
- Identify technical issues, risks, and challenges; direct efforts toward resolution
- Apply industry, regulatory, NRC/DOE/ASME codes, standards, and criteria to turbine island and nuclear island interface design activities
- Provide technical guidance to national laboratories, sub-contractors, partners, suppliers, fabricators, and customers
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Nuclear, Aerospace, Structural Engineering, Materials Science)
- Significant experience with nuclear, fossil, and/or cogen power plant turbine island systems and equipment designs
- 10+ years of applicable experience
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid (2 days per week onsite) at Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC facility
