BS in an engineering discipline; 6+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
About this role
Lead technical responsibility for developing and administering major manufacturing programs at Westinghouse's Columbia, SC nuclear fuel/component facility. Drive process innovation, equipment qualification, and strategic manufacturing improvements while reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Take leadership role in coordinating efforts across departments to implement project scope, schedule, and meet capital spending targets
- Analyze and recommend technological innovations in materials, machinery, manufacturing, and processing techniques to solve complex manufacturing problems
- Specify new processes, oversee design, development, installation, and qualification of new equipment
- Support equipment design upgrades to current equipment to improve utilization and optimization
- Prepare technical papers and deliver formal presentations to customers and stakeholders
- Confer with management, engineering, and staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and production process considerations
Preferred qualifications
Nuclear industry experience; Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
