About this role

Principal Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Engineer at Westinghouse's Columbia Fuels Facility. Lead instrumentation, control systems, and electrical systems design and optimization in a regulated nuclear fuel production environment. Drive system reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with NRC and electrical safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for instrumentation, control systems, electrical systems, and automation architecture
  • Lead development of advanced control and electrical system strategies for nuclear fuel production
  • Oversee Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA, electrical distribution systems, and safety instrumented systems
  • Improve programs for process efficiency, power reliability, and asset performance
  • Analyze process and electrical system data to implement corrective actions
  • Support troubleshooting of complex process, control system, and electrical issues
  • Lead capital projects including electrical infrastructure, instrumentation, and control system integration
  • Ensure compliance with NRC regulations, electrical codes, and safety requirements
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities including HAZOP, electrical hazard analysis, and Management of Change (MOC) processes
  • Mentor junior engineers across instrumentation, controls, and electrical disciplines

Location, schedule, and travel

Columbia, SC; onsite 5 days per week
