Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least ten years of nuclear industry experience. One of the following combinations required: 3 years supervisory/management experience plus 3 years Corrective Action Program/Performance Improvement/Human Performance experience; OR 5 years supervisory/management experience; OR 7 years Corrective Action Program/Performance Improvement/Human Performance experience.
About this role
Lead Energy Northwest's Performance Improvement department with direct ownership of the Corrective Action Program, Station Trend Program, and Continuous Improvement Model. Provide station leadership, strategic direction, and personnel management for a team driving nuclear safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence at the Tri-Cities facility.
Responsibilities
- Create and communicate Performance Improvement department vision aligned with Energy Northwest's strategic objectives
- Establish policies and procedures for Corrective Action, Self-Assessment, Trending, and Operating Experience programs
- Prepare, oversee, and monitor departmental operating budgets; identify and address variances
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize efficiency and reduce costs while meeting business objectives
- Provide strategic leadership in implementing company-wide Corrective Action program with methods to monitor, measure, and assess performance
- Ensure nuclear safety and regulatory issues are identified, addressed, and resolved to protect public safety and plant reliability
- Manage personnel decisions including employment, performance reviews, promotions, salary changes, transfers, and terminations
- Provide professional development, coaching, and routine feedback to ensure success of leaders and staff
- Set clear expectations, communicate requirements, and provide adequate resources to monitor and assess Performance Improvement Program effectiveness
- Work with Operations Support General Manager to develop long-range programs supporting operational requirements
- Coordinate alignment of Phases of Excellence focus areas with VPs and program sponsors
- Participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated
- Support biennial refueling outages and provide support to OCC and EOC
Preferred qualifications
Associate degree with twelve additional years of related experience (may substitute for Bachelor's degree); OR High school diploma/GED with fourteen additional years of related experience (may substitute for Bachelor's degree).
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite at Tri-Cities facility; must support biennial refueling outages and Emergency Response team participation as designated.
