About this role

Direct the planning and execution of nuclear power plant outages (forced, planned, and refueling) while maintaining shutdown safety, ALARA practices, and technical specification compliance. This role coordinates across all departments and organizational boundaries to deliver complex outage schedules and oversee their implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate detailed schedule and outage plan development for unit outages, ensuring technical specification compliance and shutdown safety
  • Participate in and provide oversight of horizontal schedule reviews and vertical slice reviews
  • Provide direction to departmental planners, schedulers, and specialized teams for outage plan preparation and execution
  • Direct development, implementation, and communication of the Shutdown Safety Program
  • Oversee outage plan and schedule execution while maintaining technical specification compliance and shutdown safety
  • Support high-impact teams and track effectiveness of outage activities
  • Coordinate risk screening in support of overall outage risk management
  • Develop and maintain forced and maintenance outage plans
  • Coordinate Outage Control Center (OCC) training and tabletop drills
  • Support development of presentation materials for outage readiness and executive challenge meetings
  • Conduct post-outage critiques to capture lessons learned
  • Conduct gap analysis and updates to outage templates
  • Respond to emergency situations and support outage activities as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field (engineering, maintenance) with 8 years power plant experience and 3+ years nuclear experience (commercial or military) in engineering, maintenance, operations, or work management; OR
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license with 8 years power plant experience and 3+ years nuclear experience; OR
  • Associate's degree in business or technical field with 10 years power plant experience and 3+ years nuclear experience; OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 12 years power plant experience and 3+ years nuclear experience
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access; pass favorable medical examination/testing as required

Desired

  • Current or previous SRO license or certification
  • Previous outage execution experience
  • Shutdown Safety Program knowledge
  • Supervisory or managerial experience
  • Expert-level knowledge of AS9/P6/Maximo
