About this role

Nuclear Planner or Senior Nuclear Planner supporting Millstone Station operations. Responsible for developing work order packages, scheduling maintenance and preventive programs, managing outage planning, and serving as technical expert for designated craft disciplines. This role directly supports safe and efficient nuclear station operations through detailed planning and coordination of maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare automated work order packages identifying required steps, parts, and resources for timely completion
  • Research maintenance history, engineering change documents, and vendor manuals to inform planning scope
  • Ensure periodic tests and maintenance programs are completed before regulatory and operational deadlines
  • Create, maintain, and analyze outage and major maintenance packages with resource and schedule optimization
  • Conduct equipment walkdowns to verify engineering documents, locate equipment, and assess plant conditions
  • Determine material and service requirements; identify and negotiate with vendors to meet technical specifications and cost targets
  • Order materials, create parts identifications, and expedite procurement for emergent work
  • Interface with technicians, supervisors, and reactor operators to clarify work scope, materials, and testing requirements
  • Provide technical expertise and mentoring to less experienced planners
  • Conduct planning meetings with maintenance, operations, and engineering departments to ensure proper scope identification, integration, and resource leveling
  • Track progress and maintain historical maintenance data for trending and continuous improvement
  • Act as planning supervisor when designated

Qualifications

  • 3+ years (Nuclear Planner) or 5+ years (Senior Nuclear Planner) directly related work experience demonstrating expert knowledge of craft specialty and/or nuclear operations
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completion of technical program in craft discipline (mechanical, electrical, instrument and controls, etc.) or nuclear operations training program
  • Expert technical knowledge to serve as lead/resource to other planners
  • Exceptional organizational and work prioritization skills
  • Considerable corrective maintenance and job planning experience with scope assessment capability
  • Strong analytical skills to assess work requirements and identify resource needs
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer and scheduling software

Desired

  • Associate's degree in technical discipline
  • For Nuclear Planner: High School diploma/GED with 5+ years directly related experience may substitute for Associate's degree
  • For Senior Planner: High School diploma/GED with 7+ years directly related experience may substitute for Associate's degree

Location

Dominion Millstone Station (Connecticut). Office-based 51-75%; up to 25% travel expected.
