Nuclear Licensing Engineer
About this role
TerraPower seeks a Nuclear Licensing Engineer to support the Natrium advanced reactor project. You will develop licensing documents, coordinate with the NRC, and ensure regulatory compliance for 10 CFR Part 30, 40, and 70 applications. This role is critical to obtaining and maintaining regulatory approval for advanced reactor technology.
Responsibilities
- —Draft, author, and review licensing documents for 10 CFR Part 30, 40, and 70 (e.g., Safety Analysis Report and Environmental Report)
- —Coordinate with project stakeholders to prepare responses to NRC audit questions and requests for additional information
- —Interface with the Licensing Team to complete licensing tasks
- —Coordinate with design personnel to ensure designs and design changes meet regulatory requirements
- —Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation in compliance with regulations and strict quality assurance standards
- —Interface with technical discipline teams at TerraPower, partners, and contractors
- —Review correspondence to and from regulatory agencies
- —Develop licensing strategies to support project goals
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university or equivalent experience
- —10+ years of experience with 10 CFR regulations and guidance
- —10+ years of experience with NRC licensing actions involving 10 CFR 30, 40, and 70 applications
- —Demonstrated applicable experience in nuclear licensing or comparable field
- —Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards
- —Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Professional
- —Strong communication skills
- —High degree of trust and integrity with ability to foster teamwork

Location
Onsite; 0-10% travel; extended sitting, minimal physical exertion (up to 25 lbs lifting), visual and audio-focused work, >8 hours/day.
