Nuclear Construction Specialist/Senior Nuclear Construction Specialist - Surry Projects
About this role
Dominion Energy seeks a Nuclear Construction Specialist or Senior Nuclear Construction Specialist for the Surry Projects to provide technical oversight of nuclear construction activities at a operating reactor facility. You will review design packages, monitor field work across civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines, resolve construction problems, and ensure compliance with nuclear codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- —Review design change packages prior to implementation and recommend changes or additions
- —Monitor work activities in the field across civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation groups
- —Provide interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, and design change packages
- —Perform field walkdowns and constructability reviews to identify potential problems before work starts
- —Prepare construction procedures and resolve construction-related problems involving engineering drawings and specifications
- —Provide budget input (manpower, duration, materials) for assigned projects
- —Coordinate, monitor, and document material transactions required by Nuclear Site Services (NSS) for design changes
- —Coordinate and monitor performance of external vendors
- —Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and specifications
- —Supervise Non-Dominion Energy Workers (NDEWs) as assigned
Qualifications
Nuclear Construction Specialist: 3+ years relevant experience in directly related field plus Bachelor's degree in related discipline (OR 5+ years relevant experience plus Associate degree, OR 7+ years relevant experience plus High School Diploma/GED). Senior Nuclear Construction Specialist: 5+ years relevant experience in directly related field plus Bachelor's degree in related discipline (OR 7+ years relevant experience plus Associate degree, OR 9+ years relevant experience plus High School Diploma/GED). Relevant experience in construction/projects, project management in a specific craft, design engineering, drafting, or construction project planning/implementation. Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or civil design, procedures, and codes. In-depth knowledge of processes and procedures required to implement physical facility modifications. Strong oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
Desired
Completion of Dominion Power Station Electrical/Mechanical Development Program (PSEDPN or PSMDPN). PMP Certification. Lean Six Sigma Certification. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction, or related discipline.
Location
51–75% office, up to 25% travel; onsite at Surry Projects (Virginia).
