NERC Compliance Analyst
About this role
Talen Energy seeks a NERC Compliance Analyst to support the compliance team in achieving audit readiness and improving compliance across NERC-required programs. In this role, you'll conduct detailed reviews of compliance evidence, manage documentation, develop Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs), and drive meaningful change in nuclear energy operations by ensuring adherence to NERC reliability standards and CIP requirements.
Responsibilities
- —Lead support of the NERC Internal Compliance Program (ICP) and maintain audit readiness
- —Maintain the NERC Department SharePoint and Global Audit-Ready (GAR) documents with current information
- —Track ICP milestones, prepare reports, and ensure timely completion of compliance assignments
- —Develop Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs) for Global Audit-Ready and external audits
- —Gather, review, organize, and quality-check evidence for GAR and maintain tracking tools
- —Provide Global Audit-Ready SME support to PNCs and other NERC Group personnel
- —Assist the NERC Compliance Director with program development and compliance initiatives
- —Support development of procedures, training materials, and documentation aligned with NERC reliability Standards
- —Oversee bi-annual training cycles, including training assignment management and compliance reporting
- —Participate in CIP and Operations Planning Meetings
- —Communicate ICP needs across business units and serve as a compliance resource
Qualifications
- —Degree in computer science, cybersecurity, communications, or business
- —1+ year of experience in NERC CIP and 693 Reliability Standard knowledge, or 1+ year of compliance experience
- —Strong administrative and computer skills
- —Demonstrated ability to communicate cross-functionally, solve problems, and adapt to changing regulations
- —Ability to work collaboratively with diverse perspectives and manage deadlines efficiently
- —Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Projects, and SharePoint
- —Ability to meet requirements for nuclear and NERC Medium Impact plants background clearance, where applicable
Location
Onsite with up to 10% travel as needed; willing to participate in occasional onsite support assignments.
