Required qualifications
- A minimum of a High School graduate or equivalent.
- A minimum of Two (2) years of Nuclear Power Plant experience.
- Previous or current Nondestructive Examination (NDE) certification (MT, PT, VT, RT, UT).Practical knowledge of NDE methods, with ability to successfully certify to Level II MT, PT and Visual Weld in accordance with ANSI/ASNT CP-189.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with work groups and management.
About this role
Plan and perform inspections to determine the conformance of materials, components, systems, procedures, or structures to predetermined requirements. Incumbents are certified to an appropriate level of qualification in accordance with the applicable national standards depending on discipline, education, experience, training, and successful completion of testing or practical demonstrations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform inspections to determine the conformance of materials, components, systems, procedures, or structures to predetermined requirements.
- Incumbents are certified to an appropriate level of qualification in accordance with the applicable national standards depending on discipline, education, experience, training, and successful completion of testing or practical demonstrations. Verify that modification and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with approved plant procedures, specifications, and drawings.
- Perform Nondestructive Testing/Examinations (NDE) to ensure applicable requirements of ASME, ASTM, or other appropriate codes and standards are being met.
- Perform inspections of materials to ensure compliance with the requirements of Procurement Documents, station design standards, and procedures.
- Perform inspections on weekends, backshifts, and other irregular hours as required.
- Represent Quality Assurance with various site work groups in an objective and professional manner.
- Participate in audits and assessments or visit vendors as source inspector.
- Interact with third party organizations such as INPO, NRC or vendors.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous or current certification as a Level II or Level III QC Inspector.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word and Power Point).Proficiency or ability to develop proficiency in IDDEAL Database Management System.
