Required qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) within nuclear and industrial environments. Experience to meet industry requirements for Level III certification. Ability to certify to a Westinghouse-written practice aligned with ASNT SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, and ASME Section XI. Knowledge of NDT standards, codes, and inspection methodologies. Experience in multiple NDT methods (UT, RT, PT, MT, VT).
About this role
NDT Quality Specialist supporting nuclear and non-nuclear operations at Westinghouse. Responsibilities include developing NDT procedures and inspection methodologies, managing inspector certification and training programs, and providing technical leadership on quality initiatives aligned with ASME Section XI and industry standards. Reports to Senior Quality Manager in Ogden, UT.
Responsibilities
- Maintain training, qualifications, and certification programs for NDT and dimensional inspectors
- Interpret and apply industry codes, standards, and procedures (ASNT SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, ASME Section XI) to meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Create and refine NDT techniques, procedures, and inspection methods
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to Level I and Level II personnel
- Develop examination plans and written procedures for NDT activities
- Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot NDT equipment, automated systems, and related technologies
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and document all quality-related findings
Preferred qualifications
ASNT certification or equivalent qualifications.
