About this role
Manager of Nuclear Instrumentation Systems (NIS), Detectors, and Sensors engineering team at Westinghouse. Lead 15+ personnel in designing, developing, and supporting NIS detection and sensor technologies for nuclear reactors. Drive strategic initiatives aligned with nuclear safety, quality, cost, and reliability standards.
Responsibilities
- —Manage, mentor, and develop 15+ engineering personnel; create training plans focused on long-term technical skill enhancement and career progression
- —Provide performance feedback, evaluations, merit/promotion recommendations, and address performance issues
- —Lead team with strategic vision aligned with organizational goals; foster safety-conscious culture emphasizing human performance fundamentals and personalized customer service
- —Ensure team compliance with quality standards, including corrective action program management
- —Manage cost targets, resource allocation, and financial performance (planning, forecasting, productivity)
- —Enforce nuclear safety culture, personnel safety, and industrial safety standards across all operations
- —Drive reliability and performance standards in NIS engineering processes and product delivery
- —Identify unmet customer needs through market research and direct customer engagement
- —Develop cost-efficient solutions that create customer value in collaboration with cross-functional Westinghouse teams
- —Orchestrate product/service delivery meeting or exceeding business plan objectives
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- —Minimum 10 years of leadership and management experience
- —Demonstrated experience with Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems
- —Proven ability to engineer customer-oriented solutions supporting profitability goals
- —Strong project estimation and execution skills for complex offerings
Desired
- —Direct knowledge and experience with Nuclear Instrumentation Systems (NIS), detector technologies, and sensor systems for nuclear reactors
- —Experience in nuclear industry product development or support
