About this role
Lead and manage an engineering team of 15+ personnel designing and supporting Instrumentation & Monitoring Systems for nuclear operating plants. Drive product development, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance reactor monitoring and plant safety.
Responsibilities
- Manage 15+ engineering personnel as both a resource and technical manager; ensure effective team operations and adherence to quality, cost, safety, reliability, and timeliness standards
- Develop and implement training and development plans with emphasis on long-term resource needs; provide feedback, performance evaluations, and address performance issues
- Identify unmet customer needs through market research and direct customer interaction; oversee and implement product development projects, including breakthrough technologies and cost improvement initiatives
- Allocate resources from technical offer phase through project execution; lead team with strategic focus and promote safety-conscious culture aligned with organizational goals
- Drive cost-efficient product and service delivery that meets or exceeds business plan objectives; manage group financial performance including resource productivity and cost center spending
- Build consultative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance Westinghouse's market position
Preferred qualifications
- MBA
- Knowledge and experience with Plant monitoring systems, Neutron Flux Mapping Systems, and Incore Instrumentation Systems (Electronics & Detectors)
- Knowledge and experience with PCB and Box Build Assembly suppliers
- Proven history of managing and leading multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
- Demonstrated offer development and complex project estimation/planning skills
- Business acumen with ability to evaluate financial impacts of decisions
- Cross-functional collaboration ability and stakeholder management experience
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid position in New Stanton, PA; reports to Director, Safety and Reactors Systems Engineering
