About this role

Mechanical Systems Engineer supporting the operation and reliability of assigned systems and components at Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, a dual-unit BWR site producing ~2700 MW. Role involves engineering analysis, equipment monitoring, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe and reliable nuclear power plant operation.

Responsibilities

—Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs
—Develop and implement trending and monitoring plans for assigned systems/components to ensure safe, reliable equipment performance
—Demonstrate ownership of assigned systems/components and advocate for system performance improvement opportunities
—Provide technical expertise and consultation to identify and resolve equipment and system problems
—Investigate, evaluate, and assist in producing technically correct and cost-effective designs or recommendations
—Interface directly with Operations, Maintenance, and Station Leadership regarding system issues and improvement initiatives
—Develop procedures, improved design recommendations, and equipment purchase recommendations
—Review industry operating experience and apply lessons learned to improve system performance and reliability

Qualifications

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Meet nuclear requirements for Unescorted Plant Access; Minimum of five years related mechanical engineering experience in nuclear or relevant industry (for Senior Engineer level)
