About this role
Mechanical Systems Engineer supporting the operation and reliability of assigned systems and components at Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, a dual-unit BWR site producing ~2700 MW. Role involves engineering analysis, equipment monitoring, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe and reliable nuclear power plant operation.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs
- Develop and implement trending and monitoring plans for assigned systems/components to ensure safe, reliable equipment performance
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned systems/components and advocate for system performance improvement opportunities
- Provide technical expertise and consultation to identify and resolve equipment and system problems
- Investigate, evaluate, and assist in producing technically correct and cost-effective designs or recommendations
- Interface directly with Operations, Maintenance, and Station Leadership regarding system issues and improvement initiatives
- Develop procedures, improved design recommendations, and equipment purchase recommendations
- Review industry operating experience and apply lessons learned to improve system performance and reliability
Preferred qualifications
Previous commercial nuclear experience; Familiarity with design requirements for Nuclear Power plants; Professional Engineer Registration
