About this role
Mechanical Engineer I supporting Westinghouse nuclear energy solutions. Design, analyze, and evaluate mechanical systems for operating nuclear power plants (PWR/BWR), new reactor designs (AP1000, eVinci), and fuel fabrication facilities. Work within a multi-discipline engineering team at the Rockhill, SC facility, applying ASME and ANSI codes & standards to complex nuclear systems.
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles and ASME/ANSI codes & standards to design, analysis, and evaluation of mechanical systems for operating and new nuclear plants
- Resolve technical issues for operating nuclear power plants, AP1000 and eVinci new reactor designs, and fuel fabrication facility projects
- Develop calculations and technical reports documenting design and analysis results following ASME Section III code requirements and international codes
- Collaborate with electrical, civil/structural, and other discipline engineers on cross-functional project teams
- Present technical materials and design justification to customers and external vendors
- Execute work within established scope, budget, and schedule parameters
Preferred qualifications
- Power industry and nuclear power plant experience
- Familiarity with ASME Section III design criteria
- Ability to coordinate information flow across multiple functional teams
- Multilingual proficiency
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in international team environments
- Willingness to relocate for short-term and long-term assignments
