Required qualifications

Associate level: 0–2 years of materials management, procurement, and inventory control experience. Intermediate level: 2–3 years of related work experience. Senior level: 5+ years of related work experience. Basic knowledge of nuclear plant equipment, materials, and environmental/regulatory requirements. Knowledge of inventory analysis techniques, problem solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, process information accurately, and perform physical walkdowns (walk, stoop, bend). Good color vision and hearing for communications.

About this role

Dominion Energy seeks an Associate, Intermediate, or Senior Materials Specialist to join the Supply Chain Management team supporting nuclear and transmission assets. This role manages inventory, processes material requests, optimizes stocking levels, and maintains SAP systems across nuclear plant equipment and transmission infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and process material requests and documentation to ensure timely ordering and processing
  • Perform inventory analysis to update stocking levels, minimum lot sizes, and material classifications based on demand history
  • Maintain integrity of SAP material master and related inventory tracking systems; create new items, extend materials to other locations, consolidate similar materials, and process transfer requests
  • Communicate with business units and planners to determine actual versus contingency requirements and resolve supply chain issues
  • Review monthly obsolete, deplete/delete, and inventory variance reports; publish monthly workload analysis reports and lead efforts to reduce aged requests
  • Analyze material usage patterns and inventory forecasts to set appropriate stocking levels and minimize obsolete/surplus materials
  • Develop and maintain supplier and service networks to ensure adequate supply sources for nuclear plant equipment

Preferred qualifications

Working knowledge of SAP Supply Chain Materials Management transactions and SAP systems. Forecasting, trend analysis, and cost analysis skills. Familiarity with industry standards and codes for equipment and materials. Strong spreadsheet and database skills. Excellent negotiation skills (Senior level preferred). Ability to read vendor manuals, drawings, and material codes. Military service background (E3–E5, W1–W2, or O1–O3 ranks).

Location, schedule, and travel

Hybrid 3-2 schedule (three days in office, two days teleworking) at Innsbrook Office in Glen Allen, VA.
