About this role
Westinghouse seeks a Material Handler for Brunswick Nuclear Power Plant (Southport, NC), a dual-unit BWR facility. You'll perform material handling and rigging operations throughout the nuclear station, primarily during refueling outages, operating industrial equipment (cranes, hoists) to move materials and components while maintaining strict adherence to nuclear safety procedures and radiation protection protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform material handling functions in and around the nuclear station per established company standards and procedures
- Operate large industrial equipment (cranes, hoists, rigging equipment) to move materials, equipment, and components into, out of, and around site buildings and structures
- Assess assigned tasks for safety concerns, proper support equipment application, and compliance with nuclear station procedures
- Support the Site Coordinator with material handling and rigging activities during outage operations
- Follow safe work practices, communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and site personnel, and maintain compliance with radiation protection requirements
- Use administrative documents, procedures, data sheets, and forms properly; read and interpret technical procedures and engineering drawings
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience at a Duke Power nuclear facility
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Onsite at Brunswick Nuclear Power Plant, Southport, NC. Role is primarily associated with nuclear station refueling outage activities.
