Manager, Materials & Aging Management
About this role
Manager leading a team of engineers at Westinghouse responsible for Reactor Vessel Internals (RVI) aging management, MRP-227 inspection support, and long-term operation programs for PWR and CE nuclear plant designs. Combines technical oversight of materials aging, inspection protocols, and regulatory compliance with people management, team development, and cross-functional coordination with industry partners (EPRI MRP, PWROG).
Responsibilities
- —Lead and manage engineering team including hiring, performance management, career development, and succession planning
- —Set performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback, conduct formal performance evaluations
- —Oversee work planning, prioritization, and resource allocation across inspection support and aging management projects
- —Provide management-level technical oversight for RVI inspection support, bolting analyses, aging management programs, and long-term asset management
- —Ensure high-quality delivery of engineering work products per internal quality processes and industry standards
- —Serve as primary management interface with industry organizations (EPRI MRP, PWROG) and company partners
- —Coordinate emergent response to customer issues and promote continuous improvement and safety culture
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, materials, nuclear engineering, or related discipline; 5+ years nuclear plant engineering or long-term operation programs experience; proven experience as people manager or team lead with performance management and staff development responsibility; excellent team building and stakeholder engagement skills
Desired
10+ years progressively responsible engineering and/or leadership experience
