Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of experience in nuclear power plant maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing equipment typical to nuclear generating stations
- Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and correct coworkers
- Ability to perform duties with little to no supervision
- Ability to provide maintenance supervision coverage outside normal working hours when on-call/duty status
- Ability to qualify and fulfill Emergency Response Organization duties and meet a 1-hour response time while on-call/duty status
About this role
Lead the Instrument & Control Maintenance crew at Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, a dual-unit BWR nuclear facility in Pennsylvania. Direct maintenance operations, enforce plant standards, develop technical expertise in your team, and maintain qualifications to respond and lead in plant abnormal conditions within the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization.
Responsibilities
- Lay out and implement strategies to complete work assignments per scheduled times
- Direct and supervise Maintenance Department personnel performing work in the plant, labs, and shops
- Develop troubleshooting plans and direct troubleshooting activities to pinpoint equipment problems
- Help crew members develop work-related skills and perform task evaluations for worker certification
- Answer technical work-related questions to crew members
- Enforce departmental and organizational goals and expectations
- Provide feedback to Planning and Work Management Departments on cost-effective work methods
- Monitor and manage the qualifications and training of direct reports
- Serve as training coordinator to ensure qualifications are met and develop short- and long-term training plans
- Validate job readiness for scheduled work and coordinate with Operations to reschedule when needed
- Maintain necessary qualifications to respond and lead in plant abnormal conditions within the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization
Preferred qualifications
- Good knowledge of power plant systems
- Strong technical ability on most plant equipment
- Task certification on equipment being reworked
- Energy Control Process certification
Location, schedule, and travel
Susquehanna Steam Electric Station near Berwick, Pennsylvania; on-call/duty status required with 1-hour emergency response capability; outside normal working hours coverage required.
