Lab Technician B

High school diploma or GED plus one year of technical school or equivalent hands-on laboratory experience; Fundamental knowledge of laboratory operations and safety protocols; Ability to perform calculations and read precision instruments (micrometers, calipers); Demonstrated attention to detail in a regulated quality assurance environment.

Lab Technician B in Westinghouse's quality assurance laboratory supporting nuclear fuel and component testing. You'll perform routine analytical testing, operate precision instruments, maintain lab equipment, and assist senior chemists in a regulated nuclear manufacturing environment reporting to the Lab Manager in Ogden, UT.

Perform routine laboratory operations and analytical testing in a QA setting; Operate testing and analysis instruments and develop proficiency with new equipment; Follow preventive maintenance programs and perform minor equipment repairs; Prepare and standardize solutions and control standards for analytical procedures; Recommend and help develop improved laboratory procedures and techniques; Assist in training laboratory personnel; Maintain shift-to-shift operational continuity and process documentation; Support internal and external audits and customer surveillances; Assist senior chemists and perform other assigned tasks.
