Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Two or more years of relevant professional or journey-level experience in engineering, I&C maintenance, instrumentation and control systems, or as a technical instructor in nuclear facility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Permanent residence within 60 highway miles of Callaway Energy Center
- Security screening clearance for facility access
About this role
Develop, administer, and maintain nuclear training programs at Callaway Energy Center to support operator qualification and plant compliance with National Academy for Nuclear Training (NANT) standards. This role requires delivering classroom and simulator instruction in I&C systems while ensuring accreditation and regulatory compliance. Instructors maintain individual technical qualifications through in-plant activities and may assume Emergency Response Organization duties.
Responsibilities
- Administer formal classroom training including classroom, laboratory, and simulator instruction
- Prepare, administer, and grade examinations; evaluate trainee performance
- Schedule and coordinate training course presentations with department personnel
- Support implementation of Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) that meets industry standards
- Support subject matter experts and vendors providing on-site and off-site training
- Monitor condition reports and industry trends for potential training curriculum updates
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all training conducted
- Actively participate in training programs to maintain individual qualifications
- Maintain required licenses, certifications, and technical proficiency through in-plant activities and field time
- Provide refueling outage support for preparations, in-processing training, and assigned positions
- Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties and respond to assigned facilities within required response times
- Provide peer reviews and feedback to training staff
Preferred qualifications
- Previous training instructor experience in a National Academy for Nuclear Training (NANT) accredited program
- Computer-Based Training (CBT) development or delivery experience
- Learning Management System (LMS) proficiency
- Nuclear instrumentation and control systems background
Location, schedule, and travel
Callaway Energy Center, mid-Missouri. Standard day shift in office/plant environment; callouts and rotating/outage schedules may be required. Permanent residence required within 60 highway miles of facility.
