Engineer, Sr Regulatory
About this role
Senior Regulatory Engineer supporting nuclear plant and fleet regulatory activities at Constellation Energy. Provide advanced regulatory and technical expertise in licensing, compliance, and problem-solving to ensure adherence to NRC regulations, industry codes, and the plant's licensing basis. This role involves developing regulatory analyses, managing licensing issues from initiation through resolution, and recommending improvements to reduce regulatory burden and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and implement regulatory analyses, activities, and programs with in-depth technical expertise
Identify and resolve regulatory issues through direct consultation and technical involvement
Manage regulatory issues from task initiation through completion, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain proper licensing basis management and adherence to design criteria, practices, procedures, NRC regulations, and industry codes
Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses supporting regulatory and technical projects
Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, reduce regulatory burden, or address regulatory changes
Support emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage activities as directed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree; minimum 6 years of professional nuclear industry experience; effective written and oral communication skills; ability to maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access per position duties, including favorable medical examination and testing.
Desired
Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification; advanced technical degree or related certification in nuclear engineering or regulatory affairs.
