Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7 years of technical or related engineering experience
  • Familiarity with NERC and NERC Standards
  • Field engineering experience at electrical power plants or similar industrial environments
  • Experience with electrical controls and protection devices and philosophy
  • Medium and high voltage installation, maintenance, and testing experience
  • DCS and PLC familiarity
  • Maintain minimum access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing as applicable

About this role

Advanced electrical engineer providing technical expertise and problem-solving support for nuclear and thermal power plant operations. You'll act as a subject matter expert and technical leader, responsible for engineering analysis, equipment troubleshooting, mentoring engineers, and supporting site operations including outage activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs
  • Identify and resolve equipment and system problems through direct involvement and subject matter expert consultation
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives at asset/plant level impacting site operations
  • Mentor other engineers in key knowledge and skills
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs
  • Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or ensure code compliance
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work applying standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes
  • Support outage activities and department duty coverage as needed

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced Engineering, EPRI, or Constellation University training
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical leadership programs

Location, schedule, and travel

On-site at power plant facility; subject to call-out and outage support duties
