EMEA Project Quality Manager, APX QEHS
About this role
Lead quality assurance and QEHS (Quality, Environment, Health & Safety) programs for AP1000 new plant projects across EMEA. Manage QA staff, develop quality management systems and project plans, oversee compliance with nuclear regulatory standards (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1), and support the APX Delivery Business Unit's strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- —Manage quality assurance scope for AP1000 projects, including QA/EHS cost estimation for bids and proposals
- —Lead QA engineering team to develop and implement Westinghouse Quality Management System, project quality plans, and procedures
- —Serve as project quality lead for early AP1000 project phases; participate in design reviews and conduct internal audits and surveillances
- —Ensure QA staff training and manage employee performance to achieve project objectives
- —Develop annual department budget and manage expenditures
- —Maintain compliance with Westinghouse Quality Management System for AP1000 new opportunities and new plant projects
- —Lead and support Business Unit improvement programs including Corrective Action Program and Human Performance initiatives
- —Promote nuclear safety culture and safety-conscious work environment
- —Implement quality assurance best practices through continuous improvement and change management
- —Provide programmatic oversight of specified activities and recommend corrective/preventive actions
- —Collaborate with other quality organizations to ensure compliance, consistency, and share best practices
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or technical field
- —10+ years of quality assurance experience in positions of increasing responsibility
- —Broad knowledge of nuclear quality assurance regulations, codes, and standards (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ASME B&PV Code, ANSI, 10 CFR 21)
- —Working knowledge of U.S. commercial nuclear power regulations
- —Knowledge of comparable international regulations and standards (ISO 9001, ISO 19443)
- —Experience applying Nuclear Safety Culture and Human Performance principles
- —Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, and testing work processes
- —Ability to work within a global organization and create value with diverse workforces
- —Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with ability to lead by example
Desired
- —ASQ CMQ/OE certification
- —ISO/NQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor
Location
EMEA-based (Poland preferred, other EMEA countries considered); hybrid, remote, or on-site arrangements available. Up to 25% international travel during peak times. Future responsibility for managing up to 25 employees and budget of approximately $50 million.
