Electrical/Mechanical Technician I
About this role
Support Westinghouse nuclear power plant inspection and tooling operations as an Electrical/Mechanical Technician I. Provide field services at operating and under-construction nuclear sites, maintaining and operating high-technology inspection equipment including NDE systems and robotic tooling while adhering to strict safety, quality, and nuclear security standards.
Responsibilities
Perform service center support functions including equipment maintenance, decontamination, packing/unpacking, shipment preparation, and calibration activities
Review and interpret operational procedures, maintenance drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine tooling requirements and sequences of operations
Support product engineering and training through equipment modifications, setup, testing, mock-up preparation, and process qualifications
Document equipment performance issues during field implementation and ensure corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use
Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot field service equipment at customer sites, including cleaning processes, non-destructive examination (NDE) technology, robotic systems, and computer networks
Participate in performance-based training programs to acquire and maintain certifications
Apply Human Performance Tools, INPO Principles, Industrial Health & Safety, ALARA principles, and nuclear security requirements in all work
Perform all assigned tasks under general supervision with high quality standards and within qualified procedures
Document quality-related issues and demonstrate customer sensitivity and team-building skills
Qualifications
Associate's degree or recognized equivalent
Demonstrated mechanical, networking, and/or electronic aptitude
Ability to obtain and maintain Unescorted Access status
Ability to work with hazardous materials
Ability to travel extensively for potentially months at a time
Desired
0–3 years related experience in mechanical, electrical, or nuclear field services
Location
Madison, PA (Waltz Mill facility); full-time, 5 days per week, on-site; up to 30% travel required, including extensive spring/fall assignments
