Director, Americas I&C Projects
About this role
Lead Westinghouse's Instrumentation & Control (I&C) project portfolio for U.S. operating nuclear plants. Oversee program management, ensure on-time and profitable delivery of complex EPC projects, manage a team of project managers, and report to the Senior Director of Americas ICS. This role drives strategic execution across scope, schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholder management for nuclear industry clients.
Responsibilities
- —Provide strategic direction to program management personnel to ensure contractual compliance, customer satisfaction, and profitability optimization
- —Develop and implement formal project management processes to improve performance and consistency in execution
- —Measure project success through established KPIs including customer feedback, on-time performance, and financial health
- —Coordinate lessons learned sharing and identify improvement or recovery opportunities for successful project delivery
- —Act as primary escalation point for program issues and provide senior management with accurate project status reports
- —Support P&L objectives through EAC management, risk mitigation, contract change management, and cost-reduction initiatives
- —Drive integration of all program aspects including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders
- —Monitor and review project planning processes per Westinghouse Project Management Requirements (WPMR)
- —Establish rigorous project communications ensuring team, customer, and stakeholder alignment
- —Collaborate with Contract Managers on requirements interpretation and change management
- —Interface with I&C Engineering and Manufacturing leadership to forecast needs and resolve support gaps
- —Support customer solutions and sales organizations in formulating execution strategies, schedules, cost-estimates, and risk registers
- —Support and/or drive customer negotiations
- —Oversee forecasts for financial performance, backlog resource demand, and hardware/manufacturing demand
- —Identify opportunities for additional business growth
- —Manage performance of direct reports; evaluate and adjust staffing levels as appropriate
- —Make job assignments and direct efforts of personnel to maintain organizational excellence
- —Evaluate and elevate competency and talent management of project management personnel
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related field
- —15+ years of progressive experience leading large, complex I&C (or other engineering, procurement, and construction) projects in the nuclear industry
- —Familiarity with the Project Management Institute (PMI®)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge
- —Demonstrated project management skills and track record of success with cost, risk, and schedule control
- —Ability to travel to customer sites and industry meetings
Desired
- —MBA or other advanced degree
- —PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or other approved equivalent project management certification
Location
Hybrid; approximately 10% travel to customer sites and industry meetings
