About this role
Decontamination Technician role at Westinghouse nuclear facilities. Responsibilities
- Perform housekeeping and decontamination activities in all Radiological Control Areas
- Operate test equipment and machines including high-pressure washers, laundry machines, RP meters, vacuums, and small pendant cranes/hoists
- Work at multiple heights using ladders; lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Complete training and certification to operate assigned decontamination equipment
- Understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures, and directives associated with nuclear plant operations
- Work in adverse conditions such as high temperatures and confined spaces
- Certify to all Decon-specific tasks as directed by the Radiation Protection department
Preferred qualifications
Respirator physical and training certification; prior experience with decontamination or housekeeping in regulated environments.
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite at assigned nuclear plant facility. Work includes potential respirator use, high-temperature environments, and confined spaces. Shift pattern not specified.
