About this role

Lead laboratory operations in Westinghouse's regulated nuclear environment as a Chemical Quality Engineer. Ensure integrity of chemical testing processes, qualify new instrumentation, maintain NRC compliance, and administer the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for nuclear fuel, coolant chemistry, and radiochemical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate chemical testing methodologies compliant with NRC regulations, ASME standards, and internal quality procedures
  • Qualify new laboratory instrumentation and equipment; oversee selection, installation, calibration, and maintenance
  • Interpret complex chemical data and provide technical guidance on water chemistry, corrosion testing, and radiochemistry results
  • Administer and maintain the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS); ensure accurate sample tracking, data entry, and regulatory traceability
  • Lead procedure development and maintain laboratory work instructions aligned with site Quality Assurance Program and NRC commitments
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to verify equipment meets technical and operational requirements
  • Train laboratory personnel on LIMS usage, data management protocols, and regulatory compliance expectations
  • Identify and implement programs to enhance laboratory efficiency and data integrity
