Associate-Staff Engineer OR Eng Tech Spec I/II or III- Electrical/I&C Systems Engineering North Anna
About this role
Dominion Energy seeks Electrical/I&C Systems Engineers for North Anna Power Station (Units 1 & 2). This role supports electrical systems engineering including real-time monitoring of system health, technical evaluations for design and operational issues, development of maintenance and corrective action strategies, and engineering documentation for design changes. Positions available at entry (Associate Engineer), competent (Engineer), and senior (Staff Engineer) levels.
Responsibilities
- —Monitor and trend electrical system health using plant instrumentation and engineering analysis
- —Prepare engineering technical evaluations for electrical power systems and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems at component and system levels
- —Develop maintenance strategies and corrective action plans based on system performance and regulatory requirements
- —Support development and review of design change documentation and engineering calculations
- —Apply knowledge of nuclear power plant electrical distribution systems, I&C architectures, and safety-related system interactions
- —Gain proficiency in plant-specific design bases, configuration management, and nuclear regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program (or equivalent Washington Accord accreditation) or non-ABET-accredited engineering degree with relevant professional experience
- —Knowledge and application of engineering theories, principles, and fundamentals
- —Developmental or professional experience in an engineering role
- —Competency in applying engineering principles with evaluation, originality, and problem-solving ingenuity
- —Understanding of configuration management and design change control processes
- —Ability to perform engineering calculations using software (Matlab, Excel, or equivalent)
- —Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills
- —Excellent oral and written communication skills with technical writing capability
- —Analytical thinking and complex problem-solving ability
- —Ability to interpret technical codes, regulations, and industry practices
- —Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
- —Ability to process information quickly and manage multiple concurrent tasks
Desired
- —Professional experience in nuclear power plant or industrial engineering environment
- —Demonstrated leadership development and exercise
- —Experience with Emerson Ovation distributed control system software
- —Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) familiarity or nuclear systems knowledge
