Assistant Maintenance Manager at Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES), a nuclear power plant operated by Talen Energy. This role supervises maintenance personnel, drives performance improvement across the Maintenance Department, ensures regulatory compliance with NRC requirements, and serves as focal point for work groups and acting Maintenance Manager in their absence.

Responsibilities

—Supervise day-to-day direction of Maintenance personnel and oversee quality maintenance performance
—Act as point of contact for Corrective Action Program (CAP) and Performance Improvement Program implementation
—Plan, direct, and manage Maintenance Department activities including vision setting, long-range planning, performance improvement, budget management, and department projects
—Establish Maintenance Area organizational structure and anticipate staffing requirements; oversee selection, training, development, and qualification of personnel
—Provide oversight to Maintenance Department training by identifying needs, supporting assessments, and ensuring employee qualifications
—Lead self-assessment activities and ensure timely resolution of Action Required (AR) and Condition Report (CR) items
—Serve as member of Plant Operations Review Committee (PORC) to advise plant manager on nuclear and environmental safety matters
—Maintain Operational Focus by ensuring event-free maintenance performance and monitoring work/employee performance for regulatory compliance
—Interact with outside regulatory agencies including Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO)
—Establish and communicate station performance improvement standards aligned with industry best practices and organizational goals

Qualifications

—Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
—Five years of responsible nuclear power plant or applicable industrial experience, with minimum one year at nuclear power plant
—Minimum two years management experience
