About this role

Assistant Maintenance Manager at Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES), a dual-unit BWR facility. Directs day-to-day Maintenance operations, oversees corrective and performance improvement programs, manages staffing and training compliance, and represents the Maintenance Manager during absences. Reports to Plant Operations Review Committee on nuclear and environmental safety matters.

Responsibilities

—Supervise day-to-day direction and performance of Maintenance personnel; establish organizational structure and anticipate staffing requirements
—Serve as focal point for Corrective Action Program (CAP) and Performance Improvement Program (PIP) implementation
—Plan and manage Maintenance Department activities including budget, long-range planning, performance improvement, and department projects
—Ensure personnel selection, training, development, and qualification comply with approved procedures and regulatory requirements
—Lead self-assessment activities and ensure timely resolution of Action Required (AR) and Condition Report (CR) items
—Serve as member of Plant Operations Review Committee (PORC) advising plant manager on nuclear and environmental safety matters
—Monitor work and employee performance for regulatory compliance; maintain Operational Focus to ensure event-free performance
—Interface with NRC and INPO on regulatory compliance; establish station performance improvement standards aligned with industry best practices

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, or related field (or equivalent education/training/experience); minimum 5 years nuclear power plant or applicable industrial experience with at least 1 year at a nuclear power plant; minimum 2 years management experience

Thorough knowledge of Susquehanna training and certification programs; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively across organizational levels; ability to manage fluctuating resource pools; experience developing cost-saving work strategies; knowledge of labor union agreements and contract implementation
