APX Project Cost Analyst - Pipeline M
About this role
Lead cost control and financial analysis for Westinghouse's AP1000 nuclear projects. You'll independently manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while serving as a trusted resource within Project Controls, supporting complex analyses and cross-functional collaboration on nuclear construction and operations initiatives.
Responsibilities
- —Independently analyze monthly departmental budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls
- —Compile, analyze, and interpret accounting records and financial data to determine funding and resource requirements
- —Direct the preparation and review of cost and budget reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies
- —Consult with managers and project partners to ensure budget adjustments align with approved program changes
- —Perform cost-benefit and financial analyses to compare operating scenarios and evaluate alternative approaches
- —Review operating budgets to identify trends, drivers, and impacts affecting budget needs
- —Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control, and overall financial performance
- —Act as a resource, coach, and guide for less experienced cost analysts
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent education and professional experience
- —Minimum 3+ years of relevant cost analysis, finance, accounting, or Project Controls experience
- —Experience with cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- —Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- —Expertise in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting cost and budget reports
- —Cost control, variance analysis, and trend identification capabilities
Desired
- —Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or project controls certifications
- —Coaching and mentoring skills to support development of less experienced analysts
- —Structured problem-solving approach to moderately complex and non-standard issues
Location
Hybrid, 3 days per week in office
