Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent education and professional experience
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant cost analysis, finance, accounting, or Project Controls experience
- Experience with cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Expertise in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting cost and budget reports
- Cost control, variance analysis, and trend identification capabilities
About this role
Lead cost control and financial analysis for Westinghouse's AP1000 nuclear projects. You'll independently manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while serving as a trusted resource within Project Controls, supporting complex analyses and cross-functional collaboration on nuclear construction and operations initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Independently analyze monthly departmental budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls
- Compile, analyze, and interpret accounting records and financial data to determine funding and resource requirements
- Direct the preparation and review of cost and budget reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies
- Consult with managers and project partners to ensure budget adjustments align with approved program changes
- Perform cost-benefit and financial analyses to compare operating scenarios and evaluate alternative approaches
- Review operating budgets to identify trends, drivers, and impacts affecting budget needs
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control, and overall financial performance
- Act as a resource, coach, and guide for less experienced cost analysts
Preferred qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or project controls certifications
- Coaching and mentoring skills to support development of less experienced analysts
- Structured problem-solving approach to moderately complex and non-standard issues
Location, schedule, and travel
