Advance Project Manager
About this role
Lead medium to high-complexity Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) projects for Westinghouse Commercial Nuclear Power Plants across Asia. Manage full project lifecycles from planning through closure, balancing scope delivery, customer relationships, and contract profitability while ensuring compliance with Westinghouse standards and NRC/regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- —Complete project planning including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines
- —Assume overall responsibility for contract profitability and project financial performance
- —Manage all aspects of projects including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholder engagement
- —Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements and changes to functional groups using integrated change management processes
- —Prepare and oversee cost expenditure forecasts, progress evaluations, and Earned Value Management reporting
- —Review project expenditures for compliance with baselines and scope
- —Lead discussions with customers on variation orders and commercial/execution topics
- —Develop and maintain project databases, systems, and procedures for efficient documentation and communication
- —Properly close projects by archiving work across financial, scheduling, document management, and resource systems
- —Perform final project quality assessments and identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities
- —Serve as single point of contact to customers and internal stakeholders
- —Develop relationships with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and in-country Westinghouse representation
- —Promote teamwork and effective communication through project metrics and process documentation
- —Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance project performance
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related technical discipline
- —Minimum 5 years of experience as project manager leading and directing medium to high complexity projects, OR 3 years in technical/engineering role plus 2 years as project manager
- —PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent
- —Advanced knowledge of Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge
- —Proficiency in English
- —Strong working knowledge of project schedule, cost, and risk management processes and associated tools (Primavera, SAP, Active Risk Manager, or similar)
- —Advanced ability to transform data into information for visual reports and manage databases
- —High-quality presentation skills
- —Advanced interpersonal skills including verbal/written communication, ability to lead complex team structures, develop stakeholder relationships, and make complex decisions with minimal supervision
Desired
- —Master's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, or Business
- —6–10 years of experience as project manager in technical industries such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear, or construction
- —Background managing I&C projects and/or projects involving China customers
- —Project Controls-related certification (scheduling, estimating, earned value, risk management)
- —Broad technical knowledge of nuclear power plants, specifically I&C systems
- —Knowledge of general China business practices and contracting
