About this role
Develop tube integrity assessments and design documentation for nuclear power plant steam generators at Westinghouse's Madison, PA service center. Lead degradation evaluations, perform structural analysis, and support refueling outages through on-site and remote technical support.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for steam generator tube degradation assessments before plant refueling outages
- Develop design documentation including manufacturing drawings, functional specifications, and qualification reports for safety and non-safety hardware
- Conduct operating experience research to determine applicability of material degradation types to specific plants
- Identify existing and potential degradation mechanisms on a plant-specific basis
- Calculate structural and condition monitoring limits (critical flaw length and depth) for anticipated degradation types
- Coordinate with technical leads, project managers, and customers on assigned work scope activities
- Travel to customer and manufacturing vendor sites for on-site support, presentations, and issue resolution
- Support plant refueling outages on-site and remotely, including 12-hour shifts and overnight work as needed
Preferred qualifications
- Prior engineering experience with Nuclear Power Plants
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
- Technical writing experience
