Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree with technical, business, or engineering focus, or Westinghouse equivalent industry experience. Minimum 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of process improvement principles such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Demonstrated operations management experience.
About this role
Lead tooling operations for Westinghouse's nuclear fuel manufacturing facility in Columbia, SC. Direct tooling design, execution, and vendor performance while managing engineers and supervisors. Drive quality, safety, on-time delivery, and cost performance of high-quality nuclear fuel products.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of tooling performance and develop strategies to improve on-time, in-full delivery of high-quality nuclear fuel products safely and cost-effectively
- Direct and develop Tooling Engineers and Team Leaders (first-line supervisors) as direct reports; establish objectives, monitor performance, and provide coaching
- Manage Tooling Engineers who design and implement tooling and tooling modifications
- Collaborate with EHS, Product Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational Excellence teams to solve technical problems
- Manage selection and performance of off-site vendors to ensure tooling supply chain
- Lead lean manufacturing projects to improve performance; manage area budget and staffing to achieve plant goals
- Develop and implement plans for meeting customer requirements and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and government regulations
