Thermal Hydraulic Test Engineer
About this role
Oklo seeks a Thermal Hydraulic Test Engineer with 5+ years of regulated industry testing experience to develop, execute, and manage thermal hydraulic test projects for advanced fission energy systems. You will ensure quality, safety, and compliance while establishing testing methodologies for next-generation nuclear reactor designs.
Responsibilities
- —Develop detailed test plans outlining protocols for thermal hydraulic testing aligned with applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements
- —Conduct hands-on testing by setting up experiments, monitoring progress, troubleshooting issues, and executing tests efficiently and accurately
- —Compile, analyze, and communicate test data through clear reports identifying performance outcomes, risks, and actionable insights
- —Manage test procurement processes—coordinate with suppliers and oversee tool, equipment, and material sourcing
- —Oversee testing projects from initiation to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain timelines, quality, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in nuclear, mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering field
- —At least 4 years of hands-on test engineering experience in a highly regulated industry environment (nuclear, aerospace, or equivalent)
- —Proficiency in thermal hydraulic equipment, testing methodologies, and ASME B31.3 Process piping code
- —Deep understanding of regulatory requirements in nuclear or aerospace industries
- —Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset with exceptional communication skills
- —Ability to lift, move, and position objects up to 30 lbs in all directions
- —Valid driver's license

- —Advanced degree in engineering
- —Proven expertise in designing and executing thermal hydraulic test plans
- —Proficiency in instrumentation, data acquisition, and control methods
- —Familiarity with NQA-1 test control requirements
- —Experience managing end-to-end test projects including procurement and cross-functional team coordination
Location
Onsite in Idaho Falls, ID with up to 10% travel. Initial two-week onboarding required in person at Santa Clara, CA headquarters.
